Statement of Faith

We believe in one God, the Creator, Who exists eternally as three persons: Father, Son (Jesus), and Holy Spirit. The three personalities of God all fulfill their own function; they are all equal in divinity, power, holiness, pre-eminence, and all are worthy of worship. All three persons of the trinity exist in harmony and in agreement together. The Father sent Jesus, Who was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary. Jesus was fully God and fully human, however, He did not use His divinity to His advantage while on the earth but humbled Himself, submitting even to death on a cross. Jesus died for the sins of the world, after three days rose again, ascended to heaven, and is currently seated at the right-hand of the Father interceding for all believers. At Pentecost (Acts 2) the Father sent the Holy Spirit to live in us, convict us, empower us to live a life of holiness, comfort us, and connect us to heaven.

We believe there are two impartations of the Holy Spirit, for each believer; one impartation when a believer surrenders to Christ accepting His sacrifice and making Him their Lord. This impartation, at the moment of decision, causes a person’s spirit to be re-born by the Holy Spirit, making them alive to God (John 20:22). The second impartation happens as we seek Jesus to baptize us in the Holy Spirit (Matthew 3:11, Acts 1:4-8). This baptism empowers us to live holy, walk in faith, and minister to others just as Jesus did. We believe in the full operation of the gifts of the Holy Spirit as outlined in 1 Corinthians 12:7-11 and we believe that just as Jesus healed while on the earth, He still desires to heal today through the Holy Spirit either sovereignly or through believers anointed by Him.

Jesus' victory at the cross has paid the price for our sin and has set us free from sin, giving us the ability to say “no” to temptation. Jesus' victory on the cross has also overcome all the works of the devil, putting him under His feet. However, the devil is a liar and still exists in the world doing his best to deceive us, tempt us, and harass us. Praise God that when we surrender to Jesus and follow Him, we are given the opportunity to have all authority over the devil. Our authority over the devil, given to us by Jesus, is activated as we overcome temptation and turn away from destructive heart attitudes rooted in our sinful flesh and the demonic realm.

A true salvation experience begins with the revelation of one’s need, a revelation of one’s own sin and brokenness. It continues with a revelation from the Holy Spirit, of Jesus and His sacrifice for us personally, then a revelation of the goodness and kindness of God which then causes a person to fall in love with Jesus and on their knees in repentance. A true salvation experience is a change of heart and mind causing someone to stop and turn around, changing direction. It causes a person who is unknowingly headed for a cliff, to adjust their course so they turn around and head back to the arms of God. And it's this call back to God, back to love, that instigates and perpetuates a change in desires, through the Spirit, which leads to a change in behavior. Anything less than this, could just be mental assent to the Gospel, not touching the heart at all. It is not enough to just believe in Jesus; even Satan believes in Jesus. We are called to surrender to Jesus and allow Him to be our Lord, in complete control of our lives.

We believe in the immediate sanctification of our spirit at salvation and the ongoing sanctification of our soul (mind, will & emotions). The process of sanctification in our soul is the process of the healing of our emotions, the exposure of the lies we have believed about ourselves, others, and God, as well as the breaking of addictions and obstructive habits and hangups.

We believe in the authority and inerrancy of the Bible, the Word of God, which is alive and active, sharper than any double-edged sword which “penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart” (Hebrews 4:12 NIV). We believe, as Jesus has told us, that all believers have the ability to hear His voice, but all discerned whispers from God line up with His already revealed Word and His character. The full counsel of scripture acts like a plumb line for all personal revelation.

We believe that as we await the return of Christ, we are called to advance the Kingdom of God, taking the light of Christ wherever we go, sharing the Gospel with whomever will hear. As we do, we believe we can expect the Holy Spirit to work miracles, signs and wonders, confirming His Word and drawing men’s hearts to Himself.
